Privacy Policy
Deep Search Assistant · Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how KRONIK APP (“KRONIK APP”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the mobile application Deep Search Assistant (the “App”), which searches publicly available sources on the web and summarizes what they say about a person. By downloading or using the App you agree to this Policy.
Two different kinds of people appear in this Policy, and we keep them apart throughout: you, the person using the App, and the person you search for, who is not our user. Section 5 is about the second one.
1. No account, no name, no email
The App does not have user accounts. You do not sign up, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or contacts. There is no profile of you on our servers, because there is nothing to attach one to.
2. What we collect from you
- Your searches. The name you type, plus any optional details you add to narrow it down (such as a location, a company, or a category). These are sent to our search service — see section 3 for exactly what happens to them.
- IP address and approximate country. Our search service sees the IP address of the request, as any internet service does. We use it for two things only: to work out which country you are in, so that “trending” and “discover” show people who are relevant where you are, and to count requests per hour so that a single caller cannot flood the service. The hourly counter is keyed on your IP address and is deleted after one hour. We do not build a history of your IP addresses.
- Usage & diagnostics data. How you interact with the App (features used, sessions, screens, taps), device model, OS and app version, language, general region, and crash / performance logs.
- Attribution & device identifiers. Technical device identifiers used to tell us which advertisement or campaign led you to install the App, so we know where to spend our marketing budget. On iOS we access the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, or if no prompt is shown, we do not access it.
- Subscription data. Your subscription status (for example: trial active, plan, renewal state). Payments are handled by Apple or Google — we never receive your card number.
3. What happens when you run a search
This is the part people actually want to know, so we will be precise about it.
- The name and details you typed are sent from the App to our own search service, which we operate on Cloudflare’s network.
- Our service forwards the query to Perplexity AI, an AI search provider, which searches publicly available web sources and returns a summary, links to those sources, and publicly published photographs. We send Perplexity the query — we do not send them your IP address, your device identifiers, or anything that identifies you.
- The result is cached on our service so that the next person who searches the same name is answered instantly and without another AI call. The cache is keyed on the search text itself (for example “kivanc tatlitug”) — not on you, your device or your IP address. A cached answer holds the public information that came back; it holds nothing about who asked for it. Cached search answers expire within 7 days; shorter for trending and discover content.
- The answer is shown in the App and added to your search history, which is stored only on your device (see section 4).
Because the cache is keyed on the query and not on the person asking, we cannot reconstruct “everything user X has searched for”. We have not built that, and we do not want it.
4. What stays on your device
Your search history — the names you looked up and the summaries that came back — is kept in the App’s own storage on your device. It is not uploaded to us. You can delete an entry by swiping it away, and deleting the App removes all of it from the device.
5. Information about the people you search for
When you search for someone, the App shows information about that person that is already publicly available on the open web — the kind of thing a search engine would show you — summarized by an AI model, together with links to the sources it came from.
- We do not maintain a database or dossier of private individuals, and we do not enrich, score, rank or sell profiles of people.
- We do not collect or display private contact details such as home addresses, personal phone numbers, government identifiers, financial information or medical information. The App is instructed never to guess or infer such details, and to return nothing rather than speculate.
- The App only surfaces what public sources say. It links to those sources so anyone can check them.
- Where we process personal data of people who are searched for, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating a search service over publicly available information (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), balanced against the rights of those individuals.
If you are someone who appears in the App and you want that to stop, write to support@kronikapp.com with the name and a link showing what you mean. We will remove the cached entry and add the name to a suppression list so that the App stops returning results for it. Note that we do not control the underlying websites — removing something from Deep Search Assistant does not remove it from the web, and you may also need to contact the sites and search engines that host it.
6. How we use information
- To run the searches you ask for and show you the results.
- To make the App faster and cheaper to operate, through the query cache described in section 3.
- To show trending and discover content relevant to your country.
- To manage your subscription and unlock premium features.
- To analyze and improve the App, fix crashes, measure which campaigns bring users, and prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
7. Third-party services
We use a small number of providers that process data under their own privacy policies, only as needed to run the service:
- Perplexity AI — the AI search provider that answers your query from public web sources. It receives the query text.
- Cloudflare — hosts our search service and its cache, and provides the approximate country of a request.
- Google (Programmable Search / Custom Search) — used in some cases to find publicly published photographs of a searched person.
- Wikipedia / Wikimedia — used as a source for portraits of public figures.
- Google Analytics for Firebase & Firebase Crashlytics — usage analytics and crash reporting.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications, if you allow them.
- Adapty — validates purchase receipts and manages your subscription state.
- Singular — install and campaign attribution.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — distribution, payments and subscriptions.
8. Sharing your information
We share data with the providers described above, when required by law or a valid legal request, and as part of a business transfer (e.g. merger or acquisition). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party or cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. Data retention
- Search history: on your device, until you delete it or remove the App.
- Cached search answers (on our service): up to 7 days, then automatically deleted. Not linked to you.
- Rate-limit counters (IP-based): deleted after one hour.
- Analytics, diagnostics and purchase data: kept only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law, then deleted or anonymized.
10. Your rights & choices
- Permissions: manage notification and tracking permission in your device settings at any time.
- Search history: delete any entry, or all of them, from inside the App.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel any time in your device’s account settings (App Store or Google Play) — see our Terms of Use for step-by-step instructions.
- EU/EEA & UK (GDPR): you may access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing and request portability. This applies both if you are a user and if you are a person who appears in search results (see section 5).
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you may request access or deletion. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Türkiye (KVKK): you have the rights set out in Law No. 6698.
To exercise any right, contact support@kronikapp.com. Because we hold no account for you, we may not be able to identify “your” data on our side — in most cases the data you want removed is on your own device, and you can remove it yourself.
11. Accuracy
The App summarizes what public sources say, using an AI model. Sources can be wrong, out of date, or about a different person with the same name — and AI summaries can misread them. Results are shown with links to their sources precisely so they can be checked, and they must not be treated as verified fact. See our Terms of Use for the limits on what Deep Search Assistant may be used for.
12. Children’s privacy
The App is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
Traffic between the App and our service is encrypted in transit. API keys are held on our server and never shipped inside the App. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we continuously review our safeguards.
14. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
15. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
